Why does the color of my CBD oil vary?Updated 12 days ago

It's normal for the color and thickness of Cannanine CBD oil to vary slightly from bottle to bottle. This doesn't affect the quality or the amount of CBD your pet gets.

Why it happens

Each tincture has two parts:

  • CBD: The active ingredient. Every batch is third-party tested to confirm it contains the amount of CBD listed on the label. You can view our lab results on our Testing page.
  • Hemp seed oil: The carrier oil that holds the CBD and makes it easy to give. It's also what gives the oil its color and consistency.

Hemp seed oil is a natural agricultural product, so its color can range from light gold to darker green. Color and thickness depend on the crop and how much plant matter is filtered out during manufacturing. The CBD content stays the same.

How to store your oil

  • Keep it in a cool, dark place, like a cabinet, away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Close the cap tightly after each use.
  • Shake well before each use.
  • Use it before the expiration date on the bottle.

If your oil looks cloudy after being stored somewhere cold, let it come to room temperature. It should clear up on its own.

When to contact us

Please contact our support team if your oil:

  • Smells rancid, sour, or unusual
  • Looks very different from what you'd expect, beyond normal color variation

Include your order number and, if you can, a photo of the bottle and its lot number (printed at the bottom of the bottle) so we can help quickly.
